Giving Lots hosts the Lions of Bath Preview Auction

The wonderfully popular Lions of Bath art installations will soon be leaving the city’s streets. They are now officially for sale!
To raise money for local charities the Lions will be auctioned at two glamorous events on the 15th and 17th of October. For those unable to attend or who want to bid on a lion online, preview bids can be place right now on http://www.givinglots.co.uk .
Local artists have been wonderfully inventive in creating eye-catching works of public art using a lion sculpture as a canvas. Among the 103 lions captivating locals and visitors alike are a lion made to look like an Egyptian Pharaoh, one painted to look like the furthest reaches of the cosmos and a tribute to Michael Jackson. These spectacular artworks have been placed across Bath in a similar way to the successful King Bladud’s pigs project of 2008. These are truly magnificent, collectible pieces of art from the likes of Sir Peter Blake, Nicola Donovan, Nick Walker, James Long and Emma Rose.

Funds raised from this auction will be donated to The Quartet Foundation, Off the Record and the Mayor of Bath’s Relief Fund, giving a huge boost to the great work being done to support the area’s most vulnerable people.
